Following the launch of Lumia 950, 950XL and the Lumia 550, Microsoft is allegedly gearing up to launch its fourth Windows 10 smartphone. Renders of the device have been published by WinBeta. Codenamed “Saana”, it is expected to feature mid-range specifications. If the time shown in the rendered image is anything to go by, the device might turn out to be the Lumia 650. Demo shots of previous Lumia phones showed the time corresponding to the model number. In the new render, it shows up as 6:50. According to sources cited by WMPoweruser, it is the global variant of the Lumia 650, RM-1152. According to AdDuplex CEO, Alan Mendelevich, there will be three other variants, RM-1150, RM-1154, and RM-1156. The Lumia 650 will reportedly feature a 5-inch 720p HD display. It might be powered by a Qualcomm MSM8909 Snapdragon 210 SoC. It is expected to feature a microSD card slot and a 2,000mAh battery. Earlier, there were rumours of Microsoft working on a follow-up to the Lumia 830, which was codenamed 'Saana'. It was supposed to be the Lumia 850, with the Lumia 650 being codenamed Saimaa. The rumoured specs are somewhat similar to the Lumia 640 which lends credence to the idea that Saana might just be the Lumia 650. However, these are mere speculations and the actual specifications might vary. In the absence of further details, it cannot be confirmed at the moment. Microsoft is targeting the lower end of the market with the Lumia 550. It features a 4.7-inch 720p HD display and is powered by a 1.1GHz quad-core Snapdragon 210 SoC. It has 1GB of system memory, 8GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot. There is a 5-megapixel primary camera with LED flash as well as a 2-megapixel front camera. It will be the least expensive phone to boot Windows 10 out-of-the-box. The Lumia 650 can be expected to pack in a bit more powerful hardware and will be positioned as a lower mid-range device. More details are expected to surface soon and the device may be possibly released in the first quarter of 2016.
The Mi6 is rumored to be getting a slight size enhancement as the 5.0” Mi5 will be getting an extra couple of inches in the Xiaomi Mi6 screen. It’s looking like Xiaomi will be holding nothing back with the screen specs which include a 4K screen, and an unheard of 4096 x 2160 resolution. If the latest Xiaomi Mi6 rumor holds true, this may bring a screen with a ppi near 700.
Processor
A Qualcomm Snapdragon octa-core processor will be seen again, but will be getting a step up in speed. The Mi5 processor was clocked at 2.3 GHZ, and the Mi6 is expected to be clocked at 2.5 – 2.7 GHZ.
Camera
If you’re looking for camera specs, than the Mi6 will not disappoint. Both the front and rear cameras will surely be getting an upgrade, and the new camera features will go a long way. Leaks suggesting a 23 MP rear camera and a 7 MP front camera will compare to other high-end Android releases.
Design to Feature Metal Uni-body with Glass Back
Aside from the size, the design is also believed to be getting a facelift. The phone’s exterior will be a metal body design, but we are hearing info that Xiaomi will be looking to more of a premium finish. Resembling the latest iPhone, the Mi6 may be adding a touch of glass to the back of the phone.
Below will give you a great deal of insight on things to come on the Xiaomi Mi 6 specifications:
5.2” Ultra HD 4K screen display with a resolution of 4096 x 2160 Qualcomm Snapdragon octa-core processor clocked at 2.5 GHZ 23 MP rear-facing camera 7 MP front-facing camera 2450 mAh battery Composite metal uni-body design with rear glass Xiaomi Mi6 Features
We’ve been hearing rumors that Xiaomi is looking to enhance the camera features to compete with other top premium flagships. Rumored to be getting an enhanced Optical Image Stabilization Plus feature which will only enhance the movement associated. Imagine taking pictures or recording video while in a moving car that will make the finished project seem like you were sitting completely still.
Wireless Charging and Enhanced Rapid Charging Feature
There are also leaks on integrated wireless charging, and an enhanced rapid charging feature. As consumers become more and more dependent on mobile technology, making the battery more efficient and easier to charge will be necessary in the Xiaomi Mi6 concept.
Wireless charging is expected to give consumers the ability to wirelessly charge the phone by placing it on a charging mat. Any charging matt is believed to be compatible, and will give you a boost in juice to 30% in under 20 minutes. The enhance rapid charging feature will give you a 50% charge in as little as 30 minutes, but will have to be used with an appropriate rapid charger.
Eye Scanner to Replace Fingerprint Scanner
One of the best Xiaomi Mi6 features will be the rumored retina eye scanner. The fingerprint scanner seen in the Mi5 will be a thing of the past, and will be replaced with something more responsive, and much more unique. While this has yet to be made official, new rumors suggest either an iris or retina eye scanner will be featured.
Memory, Memory, and More Memory
We are expecting to see an ample amount of memory options in the Mi6. Expandable memory is expected to make its way via a Micro SD card slot that will give consumers an extra 128 GB. There will of course be the same three internal memory options of 16, 32, and 64 GB.
It would be nice to see not just one, but two Micro SD card slots that would bring the total of expandable memory to 256 GB. In this day in age, having more than enough is what consumers want and now need, and having two 128 GB micro SD cards.
There’s Never too Many Features
Corning Gorilla Glass 4, new health related sensors, USB rapid charging, and more features will make its way to the new concept. Returning will be waterproofing and all of the typical sensors including barometer, HR, compass, gyro, and more.
